Merry Poinsettias
Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!
I chose this card as my inspiration from the gallery of this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper!
LIST: Colours (purple, orange, red, white), Techniques (stamping, die cutting), Elements (circular shapes with centres arranged at the top of the card, stencilled background, die cut sentiment)
INCLUDE: red, white, die cutting, multiple circular overlapping elements with space at the bottom, die cut sentiment
MODIFY: die cut stars and poinsettias instead of stenciled circle (what are those called? LOL!), Christmas instead of thank you, added green, used yellow and purple in my red to create variations
EXCLUDE: stamped/stenciled background
SPIN: square card
So many things I love about this card
1) the mix of the WaffleFlower star shape with the Concord & 9th poinsettias (just double up the bigger poinsettia if you don't have a 6 pointed star like this)
2) the embossed details on the poinsettias
3) the variation in colours, achieved by using a mix of Lindy's Gang Magical Shakers (looks a mess until it doesn't LOL!)
4) the gold splatter - everywhere!
5) the clean font and subtle glow of the CZ Designs Merry word cut from Honey Gold cardstock
6) crossing off two more items from my 'unused' list!
