LIMES - Happy Birthday
Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!
I chose this card as my inspiration from the gallery of this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper!
LIST: Colours (navy, white) , Techniques (die cutting, stamping) , Elements ( grid of navy wonky dots, diagonal die cut and stamped sentiment, )
INCLUDE: navy, white, die cutting, diagonal sentiment
MODIFY: layered the dots by shifting my stencil, added some dark teal and dark purple, no dots under the sentiment, die cut sentiment for both words
EXCLUDE:
SPIN: square card
My inspiration is my favourite kind of card - clean but with lots of interest from unexpected details - the dots aren’t quite circles, that happy die cut seems to join the two parts of the white panel. I started with a grid of circles stencil, and I shifted it several times to get full coverage. I love how it almost seems to look like plaid! I cut the panel on an angle and placed my white happy along the bottom edge, and then added my script navy birthday on the exposed white cardbase underneath.
