Friendship Flowers

Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!

I chose this layout as my inspiration from the gallery of this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper!

LIST: Colours (blues, white, yellow pink, burgundy), Techniques (digital scrapbook), Elements (horizontal stripes, white flowers in a circle, words in a circle, 5 friends)

INCLUDE: blues, white, yellow, pinkky burgundy, horizontal stripes, white flowers

MODIFY: 5 white flowers with the colours of the friends’ tops, birthday card, die cut sentiment

EXCLUDE: wreaths of flowers and words

SPIN:

The pops of colour on the neutral background made me choose this layout as the inspiration for my birthday card. I love that kind of grey, greeny-blue ombre effect and I achieved it by masking off 1 inch at the top of my panel before putting down a layer of light grey ink. Then I masked off the next strip and added a layer of my next colour, getting darker and darker until I was finished. So that bottom stripe had 5 layers of ink on it!

I played around for quite a while, trying to figure out how to include the friends and the flowers, and in the end, I used the colours of the tops (even the stripes!) for my flower centres.
